Computer Workstation Ergonomic Checklist
- Chair must be comfortable and adjustable
- Chair should be on rollers for comfortable re-positioning
- Chair should not have arms, or should have arms
that fold down
- Computer monitor should be situated directly in front of the user
- An ergonomically designed keyboard and mouse
should be used
- Arms should be level when typing
- Monitor should be large; a flat screen monitor
is preferable
- Monitor should not have glare, use a glare screen if needed
- Arm should not rest on a sharp corner or edge of
desk
- Lighting should be plentiful; sunlight and
florescent light are preferable
- Work area should be clear
- A foot rest should be used if legs
do not adequately reach the floor
- A phone headset will free up hands and prevent neck pain from cradling the phone
